There’s no shortcuts in business

To be totally frank, only a very small amount of people start a business and are able to buy a new car that year, It’s simply not what happens in general. On average people spend 3-7 years working hard on a business before they see any kind of real financial return.

It’s a hard slog! it really is and with the arrival of social media, but boy has things become much easier in some regards, but it has not taken away the fact that you still have to work really hard to achieve anything. Somehow though it has become normal to hide how hard you still have to work at things, the maths somehow has been created that you post some amazing photos on Instagram and your business is taking off, you’re raking in the money, You add some products to your Facebook store and before you know it you’re selling. How many overnight successes are really out there? How many businesses seem successful and really are?

However, there still are no shortcuts. I really do not think we are doing ourselves any service by pretending we are way more successful than we are, making things look easy and simple, making it look like we got somewhere without much effort. I actually genuinely wonder if we – in this time where we can spend hours and weeks online without talking to people in real life, in-person – actually crave more personal connections.

Stop trying to find shortcuts.

It simply does not work to drop some content on social media and expect the orders to roll in, Having a brilliant looking website but not doing updates and working on it weekly – at the very least – does not make the orders fly in through the door. Putting your products online with out-of-focus images, with 10-word descriptions does not entice people to buy.

YOU HAVE GOT TO PUT THE WORK IN! STOP LOOKING FOR SHORTCUTS YOU ARE ONLY FOOLING YOURSELF!
